Theme- I think that the theme of this book was to not be pridefull. It said time and time again that Johnny boasted about his work and how he was said that he thought he was the best. And it was kinda like carma in this book because he ended up not being able to be a silversmith. And when he was able to be one he always said that he was better than both of the boys that were silversmiths and his master even had to tell him that if he was up against another silversmith from a different place that most likely he would be left in the dust by the other person.
Conflict- While there is many conflicts in this book the main one I think would be Mr.Lyte. This man was somehow related to the main character but denied that he was. But the conflict was that Johnny had a cup that he got from his mom when he was young. She told him if he had no one to turn to and you needed money bring it to Mr.Lyte and he would give up a place to stay and live. So after the hand accident he did. Johnny found out that Mr.Lyte had 4 other cups that looked identical to his and that they were very vauleable to him. But what he didn't know is that Mr.Lyte lied to the police and told them that Johnny had stolen it from him. So Johnny was sent to jail. He had to go to court and be testified. But luckly Johnny had 2 witnesses that said they had saw the cup before the cup was reported stolen. So Johnny was let out of jail and started working for a ship captain. He needed money really bad again and so he still thought that he was able to sell the cup for a higher vaule to Mr.lyte. So he went back and Mr.Lyte stole the cup from him and told two of his workers that they had herd that Johnny confessed and was guilty. He did that because he felt like he was humiliated in court and wanted Johnny in prizon for it. Johnny ran away from him and started working for a paper company. From then on they were enemies.

But he burned his hand on hot boiling silver. Then after a month unwrapped his hand and found out that he could never again be a silver smith.
falling action- This happend when the british started to loose the war. When the british started to loose the war they fled to Charlest. But when they fled there they were in for a big suprise. They were cover by guns from all sides.
Resolution- After things the war ended things started to get back to normal. The towns soldiers came back to boston. And family reunited again. These men believed that god was with them and on there side.
